There is no verified universal “best build” in this handbook. The official game description supports combining hero abilities, gear and minions, but does not establish current class rankings or an optimal loadout. The checklist below is a suggested comparison method, not a tested build.
01Give your build a job
Choose the task first: progressing through an unfamiliar area, collecting resources, or attempting a timed challenge. A setup that serves one goal may not be the right comparison for another.
Write down what currently stops you. If you cannot stay alive, a damage-only recommendation may miss the actual problem. If your run is stable but slow, look at how your abilities and support work together. These are general testing suggestions, not game-specific formulas.
02Compare the whole setup

- Keep the same activity and difficulty for the comparison.
- Record the abilities, equipment and minion support you used.
- Change one component when the game allows it.
- Compare completion, survival and consistency over more than one attempt.
A single lucky drop or clear does not establish a universal ranking. Keep your notes tied to the task and version you actually checked.
04Check advice against the latest patch
The September 29 patch 1.0.0g changed loot-slot distribution and fixed specific Warrior and Monk behavior. A guide written around the demo or an earlier patch may rely on behavior that has changed.
For example, do not assume a report of scarce Hunter weapons still reflects the drop system after the slot-distribution change. The announcement documents a correction; it does not provide enough evidence to calculate a new farming rate.
05What would justify a best-build recommendation?
A useful recommendation should state its game version, purpose, full loadout and comparison conditions. It should also explain how the result was observed. Without those details, use a community build as a starting hypothesis and check it against your own hero.
